Don't get us wrong: The Serengeti, Okavango Delta, Mana Pools, Kruger are absolutely great safari destinations to visit! However, despite their greatness they have a few disadvantages:
  1. They're all in a malaria zone, so you'll need to take medication
  2. Safari's in most of these places are full day expeditions, where you bounce around in a vehicle for 8+ hours on end
  3. The transit times between different accommodations or destinations in those areas are usually long, very long...
  4. However great, they 'only' offer safari, and after the 4th day of safari, even the most die-hard nature lover would enjoy a change of scenery or do something else for a change. 
  5. And even if one were to combine a safari experience to one of those great names with, for example, a beach holiday at the end, it would usually require a full day of travel to get there.

The entire Elephant Coast is malaria free, and the region offers the highest density of game reserves in South Africa, and includes South Africa’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stunning iSimangaliso Wetland Park, as well as South Africa’s oldest game reserve, the iconic Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. 

The diversity of ecosystems will astound you, offering savanna, grasslands, mountains, forests, wetlands, estuaries, rivers, lakes, and the Indian Ocean and its sub-tropical beaches. As a result, the region offers a much higher biodiversity than its famous cousins the Kruger and Okavango Delta combined! It is possible to see all the “Big-5”, humpback whales and even sea turtles, all on the same day.
The warm Benguela current flowing from Mozambique gives the region the most pleasant climate in the country. Not too hot, and never really cold, just perfect!
