The Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s last remaining wilderness sanctuaries, with over 15,000 square kilometres of grassland, water channels and lagoons. It is listed as one of the seven wonders of Africa and as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Moemi Game Reserve and several other private wildlife concessions protect the Okavango Delta. The delta is rich in flora and fauna with over 500 birds recorded and an abundance of mammals. Huge numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo, zebra and giraffe can be found in the delta. With so many game species present the delta is also home to a large number of predators, including lion, African wild dog, and leopard. Exploring the Okavango Delta on foot, from the air, on a game drive or even in a traditional Mokoro (canoe) is a highlight of any visit to Botswana.

Xobega Island Camp

Thamalakane Lodge

Thamalakane Lodge is 3-star lodge on the banks of the Thamalakane River. The lodge lies 19 km from Maun enroute to the Moremi Game Reserve. The stone chalets of the lodge are all ensuite and lie in the shade of the adjacent forest. In the summer guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. Sundown is a spectacular sight from the lodge, the sun sets in the river which makes for a beautiful spectacle. At the restaurant guests can enjoy a tasteful meal with the river in the background.
