The city also lies on the doorstep of the Winelands, where much of South Africa’s wine is produced. Visitors can spend a day visiting several of the vineyards and tasting the excellent local wines. Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was detained, is also a fascinating site to visit during a stay in Cape Town. With so much to do in this exciting city we recommend a minimum of a 3-night stay.

Some guests prefer this as a base for their stay in Cape Town as they are out of the city centre in a more relaxed suburb, but still in a great location to explore the city centre and Cape Winelands.
