National Parks Entrance Fees
A daily entrance fees is payable at all National Parks throughout Namibia. Generally these fees can be paid at the office inside the park. However for the northern part of the Namib Naukluft Park your permit needs to be pre-purchased as there is no
|
office or permanent staff situated here. This permit can be purchased in either Windhoek or Swakopmund (at the NWR or Ministry of Environment & Tourism Offices) or at the NWR office at the Sesriem camp site.

Internet - Laundry - Souvenirs
Internet & WiFi
Many guesthouses and lodges offer free Wi-Fi in Namibia. This depends highly on the accommodation location. Some areas
|
have limited or no network connection. Internet access is sometimes offered a small fee of around N$ 50.
|
Laundry services
Many guesthouses and lodges offer laundry services; usually this costs N$ 120-200 per load.
|
In higher end lodges you'll be charged per item, so the total price can add up to about N$ 350.
|
Souvenirs
Most people like to bring some souvenirs home with them. Prices vary from N$ 20 to N$ 20.000 depending on whether
|
you buy a simple bracelet or Namibian art.
|
Restaurants
Restaurant prices largely depend on what you order and location (a trendy restaurant in Windhoek or a simple
|
restaurant in a rural village). Please find the average prices of a meal below.

Tipping
If you go out for dinner in a restaurant and the service is good, a tip of 10% of the total bill is the norm if a service charge hasn't already been added to the bill.
Baggage helpers, petrol and parking attendants might expect a couple of Namibian dollars for their assistance. If you stay at 4 or 5 star lodges, tips are usually higher. You tip around N$ 50 per person per day for the housekeeping and |
about N$ 150 per person per day for the guide. Give what you feel is appropriate in one lump sum, though before you do this find out if tips go into one box for all of the camp staff, or if the guides are treated differently.
If you have booked a guided tour and wish to tip the Tailor Made Safaris guide you are welcome to. How much is up to you. Generally speaking people give around N$ 1000 per week, regardless of group size. |
